Content
World War I

Since July 1942 - commander of the regiment. Fighting near Rzhev . From February 1943 - Colonel. Fighting in the area of Eagle . In April 1943 he was awarded the Golden German Cross. From November 1943 - Commander of the 72nd Infantry Division, for the battles in Ukraine was awarded the Knight's Cross. Since March 1944 - Major General, was awarded Oak leaves to the Knight's Cross. In October 1944, he was awarded Swords (No. 109) to the Knight's Cross with Oak leaves for fights in Poland . From January 1945 - Lieutenant General.
April 20, 1945 he was appointed commander of the 9th Army Corps . May 9, 1945 captured in the United States (released in 1948).
