The center of the settlement is the village of Pirogovo .
It was founded in 2005 and included the territories of the Ilyinsky and Pirogovsky rural districts.
By the law of Tver region dated April 17, 2017 No. 23-ЗО [1] , through their unification, the municipalities of the Georgian and Pirogov rural settlements were transformed into the Georgian rural settlement .

According to the 2002 census - 1036 people (442 in the Ilyinsky and 594 in the Pirogovsky rural district), as of 01.01.2008 - 992 people.

Former settlements
On the territory of the settlement the villages disappeared: Bobrich, Goltsovo, Dorki, Izmailovo, Lidovo, Ruchkino, Skorkino; Farm Brotherhood, Yasnaya Polyana, Free Labor, Enlightenment and others.
The village of Bozhenka is attached to the village of Pirogovo .
The village of Suchie Gorky was renamed Chaikino .
History
In the XI-XIV centuries. the settlement territory belonged to Novgorod land and was part of the “urban volost” of the city of Torzhok (New Torg). In the XV century it was annexed to the Grand Duchy of Moscow .
- After the reforms of Peter I, the territory of the settlement included:
- in 1708-1727 to the St. Petersburg (Ingermanland 1708-1710 biennium) province, Tver province,
- in 1727-1775 to the Novgorod province , Tver province ,
- in 1775-1796 to Tver governorship , Novotorzhsky district,
- in 1796-1929 to the Tver province , Novotorzhsky district ,
- in 1929-1935 to the Moscow region , Novotorzhsky district,
- in 1935-1963 to the Kalinin region , Novotorzhsky district,
- in 1963-1990 to the Kalinin region , Torzhok district ,
- since 1990 in the Tver region , Torzhok district .
Famous People
Hero of the Soviet Union Dmitry Semenovich Kuzmin was born in the village of Kashaevo .
