The angular cup eucalyptus ( lat. Eucalyptus goniocalyx ) is an evergreen tree , a species of the Eucalyptus ( Eucalyptus ) genus of the Myrtaceae family .

Dissemination and ecology
In nature , the species range covers the southeastern part of Australia - Victoria , New South Wales , South Australia ; grows at an altitude of 900-1000 m above sea level.
The best development was shown on deep alluvial and pebble soils. On slopes with hard clay soil grows worse.
The frost resistance is slightly inferior to the spherical Eucalyptus .
Botanical description
Tree height up to 60-75 m.
The bark is smooth, spotted, at the base of the trunk is more or less coarse, the old bark falls off in stripes or ribbons.
The young leaves are opposite, in a large number of pairs, sessile or short-stem , heart-shaped or broadly lanceolate, 6.5–8.5 cm long, 3–6 cm wide, or slightly larger, gray-gray. Adults - ordinary, petiolate, narrowly lanceolate, 10-25 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, or larger, pointed, dark green, shiny.
Umbrellas axillary , 4-8 flower , on squeezed legs 7-20 mm long; cylindrical buds , 14 mm long, 6 mm in diameter, slightly angular, on pedicels ; the cap is conical, equal in length to the receptacle tube or shorter than it; anthers swinging, obovate, open with wide parallel slits; piece of iron spherical, large.
Fruits on legs, club-shaped, ovate or pear-shaped, compressed in the throat, 8-10 mm long, 10 mm in diameter; disk skew; shutters crushed or weakly protrude.
At home it blooms in December - February; on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus - in December - March.
Meaning and application
The wood is light, yellowish-brown, straight-layered, very hard, coarse, heavy, cracked; very solid in the ground.
The leaves contain essential (eucalyptus) oil , consisting of cineol (15%), pinene , eudesmol , sesquiterpenes , ethers and volatile aldehydes .
