Lascar ( Spanish Láscar ) - a volcano in northern Chile , in the region of Antofagasta ( El Loa Province). It is located 30 km east of the Atacama Desert and 5 km west of the Aguas Calientes Volcano ( taller and older). The most active volcano in the north of the Chilean Andes [2] [1] .

Laskar - andesite - dacite stratovolcano with 6 overlapping craters [1] . It has two main centers of activity. The first formed east, then activity shifted to the west, but later returned to the east; the eastern part of the volcano is currently active [1] [2] .
The largest known eruption occurred about 26,500 years ago [1] , and the largest historical eruption in 1993. The last eruption began in April 2013. [1]
