It was founded in 1950 .
June 19, 1981 Upper Maksakovka was classified as urban-type settlements.
May 3, 1983 Upper Maksakovka was included in the city of Syktyvkar.
November 15, 1990 re-registered as a village (administratively subordinate to Syktyvkar).
Since December 3, 1990 - the status of an urban-type settlement is repeated.
