Kolomyyka ( Teodor Aksentovich )

Kolomyyka ( Ukrainian Kolomiyka ) - Ukrainian folk Carpathian dance and dance song, performing accompaniment to the dance or existing separately from it; traditional genre of Ukrainian folk music.

The time of occurrence is not precisely established, but the name indicates the place of origin: the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of Ukraine . Staying at first urban, the dance became very popular in the cities surrounding Kolomiya in the middle of the 19th century.

Kolomyykovy verse of the song is syllabic, consists of two lines of 14 syllables with each other (or four lines: 8 + 6 + 8 + 6). It is characteristic not only for Kolomyek, but also for historical, household, ballad and other Ukrainian folk songs. He was very often used by T. G. Shevchenko [1] . Kolomyykov verse was also written by the Anthem of Ukraine
