Shishechnikovye ( lat. Monocentridae ) - a small family of ray-finned fish from the order Trachichthyiformes . They are found in tropical and subtropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Popular with aquarists , but considered expensive and difficult to care for.

A short, thick body, covered with large and stiff scales with a strong crest and spike.
Normal color - from yellow to orange. They have bioluminescent organs - photophores .
The largest representative of the species is the Australian cone, reaching more than 20 centimeters in length.
