Geography
Kvongan contains rich vegetation wasteland with dense thickets of sclerophyte shrubs, isolated small trees are also found. Quongan is also characterized by sandy soil (in which there are few nutrients), frequent natural fires, a very high level of endemicity, and a variety of local plants. The climate for this area is close to the Mediterranean: frequent torrential rains are usual for the winter period, summers are hot and dry.
Gwangan has similarities with the Mediterranean maquis , the Californian chaparral , the Chilean matorral and finbosh from South Africa [1] .
