Ants Arturovich Antson ( est. Content
Biography
He played tennis under the direction of Ewald Creet, as well as athletics under the supervision of Alexander Chikin [1] . The speed skating coach was athlete Olaf Olman [2] .
In 1961 he became a master of sports .
At the 1964 Olympics, he won the gold medal at a distance of 1500 m. He was recognized as the best skater in 1964 and received a prize named after the Norwegian skater Oscar Mathisen , was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports.
Since 1964, he played for the Tallinn SSO " Kalev " [3] . In 1975 he graduated from the Edward Wilde Tallinn Pedagogical Institute .
From 1962 to 1970 he worked as an instructor, and in 1970–1972 as a coach at the Kalev training center, from 1973–1977 he was the director of the cycling school at the Kalev velodrome, from 1977 he was the sports leader for the districts of Tallinn, in 1993–2000 He was the head and advisor of the Department of Culture and Sports of the Central District Council of Tallinn.
During the opening ceremony of the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, Antson was the standard-bearer of the Estonian team [4] .
Honorary Member of the Estonian Olympic Committee (1997).
Family
He was married to Estonian actress Ewe Kivi . In 1968, the couple had a son.
