Sports Illustrated is an American weekly sports magazine published by Time Warner Media Holding. The magazine covers primarily American sports: NFL , Major League Baseball , NBA , NHL , student basketball and football tournaments, NASCAR races , golf , boxing , tennis ; To a much lesser extent, football, which is not very popular in the USA, is covered.

History
The magazine has been published since August 1954. The magazine has 3.3 million subscribers [1] , the total number of readers exceeds 23 million [2] . Since 1954, the Sports Illustrated editors have been awarding the best athlete of the year , in rare cases, this title is also awarded to sports teams. Special versions of the magazine for children and for women are also available.
Since 1964, a special annual issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit has been published with photos of supermodels in bathing suits against the backdrop of exotic landscapes. At different times, such famous models were shot for this yearbook: Katie Ireland , Elle Macpherson , Petra Nemtsova , Heidi Klum , Tyra Banks , Marisa Miller , Cindy Crawford , Naomi Campbell and Bar Rafaeli . In addition to models for the magazine, famous athletes posed in swimsuits: tennis players Steffi Graf , Serena and Venus Williams , Anna Kournikova , Maria Sharapova , swimmer Amanda Bird , basketball player Lauren Jackson , figure skater Ekaterina Gordeeva .
