The continuation of the street to the west beyond Chertanovskaya street is Sumy passage , then making a semicircle, again crossing Chertanovskaya street and returning to Warsaw highway.

Parallel to Sumy (south) passes Dnepropetrovsk street , separated from Sumy street by a square.

Name Origin

It is named after the city of Sumy , the regional center of the Sumy region of Ukraine , due to the location in the south of Moscow among the streets bearing the names of the geographical objects of Ukraine. In 1965, the names associated with the Crimea and the south of Ukraine were given to the β€œbush” of streets in Zyuzin (north of Balaklava Avenue ), and the streets in Chertanov in 1968 received names for regional centers (Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk , Kirovograd ) that were not previously used.
