Until 2004, she published her reviews in Village Voice and the Los Angeles Times . She is known for her addiction to European author's cinema (among her favorite directors - Alexander Sokurov ) and distrust of Hollywood blockbusters . The Coen Brothers cynical absurdism and the Tarantino films postmodern violence are extremely negative. In 2004, she posted the Garfield cartoon in her review, after which in his sequel the main villain received the name of Lord Dargis.
