Etiology
Eristalis alleni got its name in honor of Paul Allen . Another grub, Eristalis gatesi , was named after Bill Gates [1] [2] .
Distribution
Eristalis alleni is found only in the upland forests of Costa Rica .
Description
The appearance of this fly is similar to Eristalis circe and Eristalis persa , but there are differences in the color of the paws [2] .
Biology
Little is known about the biology of this fly; it is only known that flies are found to be associated with flowers of the genus Seneico [2] .
