A great resonance in scientific circles was caused by the fundamental work of Isaac Efimovich, "Legal Consciousness as a Form of Social Consciousness" ( 1963 ).

Criticism of Scientific Opponents

A number of scientific views of the scientist, set forth in the work “Legal awareness as a form of social consciousness” [1], were criticized . In this work, I.E. Farber puts forward the idea that each form of social consciousness has its own special subject, on which it is directed. This provision finds critical assessments by the scientist A.V. Miscavige. So, they are indicated that:

... mistake I.E. Farber, in defining the subject of legal consciousness, stems from a misunderstanding of the philosophical position that each form of public consciousness has its own special subject, that political relations are the subject of political views, and moral relations are the subject of legal consciousness. But if political relations, as the most concentrated expression of the economic relations between classes, nations, and peoples, really precede political consciousness, this cannot be said about legal and moral relations. And what area of relations is a special “subject” of philosophy, art? There is hardly a successful answer to this question. [2]

Also controversial is the provision that legal consciousness is a regulator of public relations [3] . With this position A.V. Mickiewicz does not agree for the reason that “the regulator of public relations is not representations of rights and obligations, but legal norms established by the state” [2] .
