Hylaeus

Hylaeus (lat.) (= Prosopis ) is one of the largest and most widely distributed genera of bees , including more than 700 species from the Colletidae family.

Description

Cosmopolitan distribution. Superficially resemble small wasps, since they are almost not pubescent [1] .

Silk

In bees of the genus Hylaeus , the rarest of silk among the bees was found, and in adults [2] .

Classification

There are more than 700 species in the world fauna, about 80 species in Europe, 48 species in China [3] . It belongs to the Hylaeini tribe, Hylaeiti supertribe, Hylaeinae subfamily [4] . 46 subgenera. In the Palearctic about 200 species, in the Asian part of Russia there are 31 species [1] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16 ] [17] [18] [19] .
