Hylaeus (lat.) (= Prosopis ) is one of the largest and most widely distributed genera of bees , including more than 700 species from the Colletidae family.

Description

Cosmopolitan distribution. Superficially resemble small wasps, since they are almost not pubescent ^[1] .

Silk

In bees of the genus Hylaeus , the rarest of silk among the bees was found, and in adults ^[2] .

Classification

There are more than 700 species in the world fauna, about 80 species in Europe, 48 species in China ^[3] . It belongs to the Hylaeini tribe, Hylaeiti supertribe, Hylaeinae subfamily ^[4] . 46 subgenera. In the Palearctic about 200 species, in the Asian part of Russia there are 31 species ^[1] ^[5] ^[6] ^[7] ^[8] ^[9] ^[10] ^[11] ^[12] ^[13] ^[14] ^[15] ^{[16 ]} ^[17] ^[18] ^[19] .
