History
In the collection of the “Theater of World Masterpieces”, 23 TV series were released, starting from the TV series “ Flanders Dog ”, released in 1975, ending with the TV series “ Homeless Girl Remi ” in 1997. After the success of " Heidi - Alp girl " Isao Takahati and Hayao Miyazaki , Nippon Animation studio decided to organize a long-term project on adaptation of children's works popular in the West as an anime. [1] The project was sponsored by Calpis . After Calpis retired, the series continued to bring Nippon Animation steady income in the 1970s and 1980s, but the company began to experience difficulties: Famous Dog Lassie (1996) was suspended, this anime was changed to "Homeless Girl Remi" ( 1996-1997), the plot of which was extremely far from the original source and thus distorted the main idea of the “Theater of World Masterpieces”. [1] The release of "Theater" was suspended. For several years after that, the old series were published on video and DVD. [one]
Nippon Animation resumed the series in 2007 from the series " Les Miserables: Cosette ", which premiered on BS Fuji on January 7, 2007, then the series " Porphy 's Long Journey ", subsequently shown on the same channel from January 6, 2008, making him The 25th series of the Theater of World Masterpieces. The latest and 26 TV series was " Hello, Anya! What happened before the Green Roofs ”of 2009, [2] based on the novel“ What happened before the Green Roofs ”.
The series has been known by various names over the years, the World Masterpiece Theater (World Masterpiece Theater) is the name most used by the audience. Some TV series were officially available for online viewing on the Yahoo! Japan . The cost of viewing is 300 yen for the first series of each anime, 500 yen for five episodes. [3] The Theater of World Masterpieces contributed to the popularization of anime in Europe: it was through these anime series that it penetrated Europe, in contrast to the United States, where Robotech , Akira and Pokemon gained the greatest fame. [1] Unlike Europe, in Russia from the entire series of Masterpieces, only Flon on a Wonderful Island , The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Peter Pan were duplicated and shown.
