Skogvatn ( Nor. Skogvatn ) is a lake on the border of Norway and Russia in the valley of the Paz river . [1] Administratively enters the Murmansk region of Russia and the Sor-Varanger commune of Norway. Located at an altitude of 31 m above sea level .

The lake belongs to the Barents Sea basin , is associated with it by the Pasvik river. Nutrition of the lake is mainly snow and rain. The relief of the coast is mostly low-lying, marshy. The forests on the banks consist mainly of birch and pine . The lake is a support for the Melkefoss hydroelectric station . In the northern part stands a vast Gulf of Fuglebuktu. There are many islands in the lake, the largest of which are Grasholmen, Skolteholmen and Nivasaari. Skogvatn along the river Paz up connects with the lake Bossoyavrre (through the threshold of Hokokoski), and along the river down with the lake Salmijärvi (through the rapids of Melkefoss and Maytokoski).
On the lake are located the Norwegian settlements of Skugstad, Lillestrommen, Björklund, Fossaloons, Fosheim and Skugfoss. Russian settlements are absent. The Norwegian highway 885 runs along the western shore of the lake.
