Since 1965 - the capital of the Val de Marne department , the supreme prefecture of the Creteil district, the center of the diocese. 89 845 residents (2012), several large hospitals.
First time referred to as Kristoliy in 865.
The main transport links with Paris are the four stations of line 8 of the Paris Metro , also on the outskirts of the city there are one station of lines A and D RER .
