Tartar [1] [2] , Mileh Tartar [3] ( Arabic: بحيرة الثرثار ) is a lake in Iraq . The area of the lake is 2710 km², capacity - 35-85 km³.

It is located 120 km from Baghdad , located between the Tigris and Euphrates .
The lake is created artificially and is actually the largest reservoir in Iraq. The waters of the lake are widely used for irrigation. There is a seasonal change in water level. Due to climatic conditions, there is very little vegetation, with the exception of rare shrubs.
