Biography

He began his career at Defensor Sporting . In 1995-1998 played for the Argentinean Independente , in which he won the 1995 Libertadores Super Cup .

The period from 1998 to 2000, when Alves played for Nacional , became for the player one of the most successful in his career. Alves twice became the champion of Uruguay , and in 1999, as part of the national team of Uruguay, he reached the final of the America's Cup .
