Content
History
The construction of the stadium began in 2008 and was completed in 2011. Until December 2009, the stadium was called the Baltic Arena , until the PGE Group acquired the right to name the arena for the next 5 years for PLN 35 million. [one]
Outside, the stadium looks like amber , widely found on the Baltic coast . The cost of construction of the facility is estimated at 623 million zlotys.
Purpose
The stadium was officially opened on August 6, 2011. The arena hosted three matches of Group C and the quarterfinals of the European Championships. [2] After Euro 2012, the local football club Lechia plays at the stadium. Also at the stadium will be the UEFA Europa League final 2019/20 .
