Biography

Born on June 23, 1916 in the village of Simkino (now the Bolshebereznikovsky district of the Republic of Mordovia ) in a peasant family. He graduated from 7 classes. He worked as a shepherd , lumberjack , machine operator, foreman of the transport brigade on the collective farm [1] "Red Pine" of the Bolshebereznikovy district [2] .

In the Red Army since 1937. In 1938 he graduated from the regimental school. He participated in the Soviet-Finnish war , as a driver in the BT-7 tank. He was seriously injured. Member of the CPSU since 1940 [1] .

In the Great Patriotic War - since 1941 . In 1943 he graduated from armored personnel improvement courses for officers. He fought at Stalingrad and Kirovograd [1] . Near Stalingrad, he shot down a plane from a tank gun [2] .

He particularly distinguished himself in offensive battles in Western Bukovina from March 21 to March 30, 1944 . From the award sheet about the battles for the city of Chernivtsi [2] :

... The first to force Prut under enemy fire, burst into the outskirts of the city, took the battle, defeated several enemy echelons. For three days of stubborn battles, Rota Adushkina destroyed 21 tanks, among them eleven Tigers and a self-propelled gun, 104 cars, two armored personnel carriers, three guns, six machine guns, four trains with tanks, ammunition, 315 fascists, and freed 162 prisoners. Personally, the communist Adushkin destroyed five tanks (among them the "tiger"), self-propelled guns, armored personnel carriers, 17 vehicles with fascists.

The title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 2411) of the guard to senior lieutenant Ivan Prokofievich Adushkin was awarded on April 26, 1944 .

At the end of the war, I.P. Adushkin was wounded. Since 1945, in reserve, he lived and worked in Ternopol . He died on January 8, 1975 . He was buried at the Mikulinetskoye cemetery in Ternopol [1] .
