Description
“The flag of the Chaplyginsky district is a rectangular, yellow cloth with a ratio of width to length of 2: 3, bearing in the center of the figure of the coat of arms of the district: red, about five bastions, a fortress; the white space inside the fortress bears the image of two crossed green, with red fruits, branches of an apple tree. ”
Justification of Symbols
The flag of the Chaplyginsky district is based on the coat of arms , which reflects the history of the region. In the middle of the XVII century , the construction of the Belgorod serif line was held here, which was of great importance for protecting the borders of the Russian state from the invasion of the Crimean Tatars. During construction, the village of Slobodskoye, the modern city of Chaplygin, arose. Already at the beginning of the XVIII century, Peter I built a fortress in the village on the Dutch model according to all the rules of fortification, which is reflected on the flag of the district. The fortress had a pentagonal shape, was surrounded by a rampart and a moat, which had a height and depth of 6 meters, the bastions were equipped with guns of different calibers. It was possible to enter the fortress only by drawbridges installed at the Moscow and Voronezh gates. In February 1703 , during his stay in the fortress, Peter I gave her the name Oranienburg, and named the five bastions by the five senses: “seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting”. Currently, the territory of the fortress is a monument of history and architecture of federal significance.
In 1781, the coat of arms of the city of Ranenburg (the former name of the city of Chaplygin) was approved. The symbol of the city was apple branches, "with which the fruit of this city abounds." The use of the motif of the historical coat of arms of the city emphasizes the connection between the city and the district, and the yellow flag panel indicates the importance of the district as a worthy environment of the city. The yellow banner is a symbol of power, glory, stability, wealth, generosity. Also, yellow color (gold) is a symbol of the crop, emphasizing the traditionally high quality of agricultural products grown on the Chaplyginsky land. Favorable climatic conditions, the presence of black soil contribute to the development of crop production - the basis of agricultural production in the region.
White color ( silver ) symbolizes purity, nobility, peace, mutual understanding.
Red color is a symbol of warmth, vitality, strength, courage.
Green is a symbol of hope, nature, agriculture, and also a symbol of health.
