Description
"The flag of the Lipetsk Region Municipality is a rectangular yellow cloth with a width-to-length ratio of 2: 3, with a green border 1/10 the length of the cloth, bearing in the center of the emblem of the Lipetsk region: a red jug with a handle from the shaft, standing on a white laid on a black anvil anchor, a ring from a pole; the base of the anvil is depicted over the edge of the rim. "
Symbolization Justification
The flag was developed on the basis of the coat of arms of the Lipetsk region, where the features of the region are reflected in the language of heraldic symbols.
The yellow cloth is consonant with the emblem of the city of Lipetsk , and the green border symbolizes the value of the Lipetsk region, as a suburban district of the city of Lipetsk. Yellow color (gold) in heraldry - respect, stability, wealth, harvest.
The jug reflects the pottery industry, for which the area has historically been famous. Here they made not only dishes, but also a Romanov toy, which was very popular in Russia at the end of the 19th century ; hundreds of craftsmen worked on the land of Lipetsk. Red is the color of the clay from which the toys were made.
In heraldry, the jug symbolizes prosperity, storage, a thriving economy.
The anvil on the flag symbolizes one of the first metallurgical plants in Russia, created in 1693 - Borinsky. In the first years, metal products were produced that went to the local market: staples, hooks, nails. Later, the company was reequipped for casting guns.
By decree of Peter the Great , in 1703–1706, an iron-making (anchor) plant was founded in the village of Bolshaya Kuzminka . Anchors produced in Russia were considered among the best and successfully competed in quality with English, Dutch and French. On the flag this is reminiscent of the image of a white anchor.
Red color - strength, courage, work, love and beauty.
Green - nature, health, agriculture, hope.
White color (silver) - purity, spirituality, perfection, mutual understanding.
