Brudos, Jerry

Jerome Henry Brudos was born in South Dakota in 1939 , and raised in California. At the age of five, he found a pair of women's high-heeled shoes in a landfill and brought home. Jerry put on his shoes, but then an angry mother noticed him and told him to throw out the trash. Jerry disobeyed and hid his shoes. After some time, their mother found and burned them.

With age, he began to infiltrate other people's houses in order to steal shoes, sometimes he took women's underwear.

At the age of 17, threatening with a knife, he forced the girl to pose naked in front of the camera. He was convicted and sent to compulsory treatment at the Oregon State Hospital. Nine months later, Brudos was released.

Soon, Jerry graduated from college with a degree in electronic engineering. He married and moved to Portland, Oregon. Later, his mother also moved to them. Two children were born in the family.

Brudos’s relationship with his wife did not break up, despite the fact that Brudos did strange things. He dressed in women's clothing, asking his wife to walk naked around the house. He received refusals from his wife, and went to his garage. Later, his wife found photos of naked women there.

Between 1968 and 1969, women began to disappear in Portland.

The first victim was nineteen-year-old Linda Sloan, who worked as an apartment distributor of encyclopedias. She rang the doorbell. Brudos dragged her into the basement, hit him with a stick and strangled her. The dead section and began to put on her things from his collection. He cut off the girl’s left leg, shod one of the shoes and put it in the refrigerator, and then got rid of the corpse.

His next victim was 23-year-old Jen Whitney. Her car broke down on the way from college in November 1968. Brudos strangled Whitney in her car, after which, having had sexual intercourse with a corpse, he returned to his workshop, taking the body with him. In the garage he mated with a corpse for several more days, all this time the body hung on a hook bolted to the ceiling. Brudos cut off her right breast, and then got rid of her body.

On March 27, 1969, 19-year-old Karen Sprinker disappeared from the underground parking lot of the department store, where she was supposed to meet with her mother. Brudos with a gun forced the girl to get into his car. He brought her to his workshop, where he raped. Then he forced her to wear various women's underwear from his collection and pose in front of the camera. He killed her by hanging on a hook, cut off both breasts, and then got rid of her body.

22-year-old Linda Saley became the next and last victim of Brudos. In April 1969, he abducted her from a shopping center, brought her to her house, raped her and then strangled her. He drowned a corpse in a nearby lake. Brudos attacked several more women, but they all managed to escape. They gave evidence to the police, which subsequently led to Brudos. Once at the police station, Brudos confessed to four murders.

In the house of Brudos, police found evidence supporting the killings. He was convicted and sentenced to death and life imprisonment.

On March 28, 2006, Brudos, aged 67, was found dead in his cell in an Oregon Prison. Brudos died of cancer.
