Biography
A graduate of the Hopkins School in New Haven (Connecticut) and Harvard, Mostow also studied at the American Repertory Company and the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute . He made several short and documentary films, as well as music videos, before the release of his first film, The Body Beaters from Beverly Hills (1989). He then made the film Flight of the Black Angel (1991) for Showtime , about a colonel who trains fighter pilots and his troubled protégé.
Mostow proved himself in the action genre in the 1997 film Crash. The thriller, with Kurt Russell as the man whose wife disappeared in the desert, was pretty well received by the audience, judging by the fees [2] , and critics [3] . He went on a collaboration with Hal Lieberman and signed a four-year contract with Universal. He also spent several years developing the project for the film The Game (1997), hoping to direct the film, but instead became directed by David Fincher , and Mostow got the job of executive producer [4] .
Mostow and Michael Douglas teamed up to work together on the film about World War II “U-571” (2000), but Douglas left the project due to a tight schedule. However, Mostow gathered many actors, including: Harvey Keitel , Bill Paxton , Matthew McConaughey . The film was welcomed by the audience and was successful at the box office.
In 2003, Mostow directed Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, whose fees did not live up to expectations.
After a six-year hiatus, Mostow returned to directing in a big movie with the movie Surrogates, which is based on a comic book series . Starring Bruce Willis . The film was released in theaters on September 25, 2009.
He was also involved in the creation of the comic strip The Megas together with Liquid Comics [5] .
