Production
The series was filmed in England. A Thornfield Hall was filmed near Corby in Northamptonshire Dean Park. During the broadcast, the series was divided into 11 half-hour episodes, but the version released on video and DVD was remounted to 4 episodes of 60 minutes each, which is why a number of scenes were not included in this version. In turn, even in the expanded version there is no series of episodes with Blanche Ingram (the only major difference of this film version) - Mary Tamm who played it claimed that her role was much wider.
