Christmas goat ( Norwegian. Julebukk , Swede. Julbock ) - a traditional Christmas character in Norway , Sweden and Finland .
In Sweden, Norway and Finland, there was a tradition of Christmas before, when young mummers went from farm to farm, played and sang Christmas songs. One of the groups was always dressed like goats , sometimes with a mask made of straw, and as a reward they received food and drinks. Over the course of the 19th century, tradition gradually changed: a man dressed as a goat began to give presents, and now the Scandinavian analogue of Santa Claus is called by the name of Joulupukki [1] .
