Astymedus (Astymedusa) - in Greek mythology, the daughter of Sfenela , the second or third wife of Oedipus , whom he married after the death of Jocasta and Eurigan. She slandered her stepsons Eteokles and Polinic , accusing them of persecuting her, which is why Oedipus cursed his sons [1] (other sources give different explanations for Oedipus’s curse against the sons).
