Leslie Irvin ( Eng. Leslie Irvin ; 1924 - 1983 ) is an American serial killer who terrorized residents of southwestern Indiana with his crimes in the 1950s.

Biography
Six murders were committed in the Evansville , Indiana area, two in December 1954 , and four in March 1955 . The media coverage of the Vanderburg County media outrage has caused great outrage throughout the county where Evansville and the adjacent Gibson County, which has rural counties with approximately 30,000 inhabitants, are located. The suspect was arrested on April 8, 1955. Soon after, the Vanderburg and Evansville County Police Attorney issued press releases stating that the suspect had confessed to six murders. The case of Irwin was considered in the Supreme Court, after which he was sentenced to death , but later the sentence was commuted to a life term. Irwin died in prison from lung cancer .
