Mord Sith in Terry Goodkind's books
Mord-Sit Features
Future Mord-Sites are selected from the most tender and kind girls in D'Har, and they are trained from childhood, forcing them to go through three levels of training. At each level, the student must be “broken.”
The first withdrawal is the time during which she is tormented to the point of complete obedience, so strong that she does absolutely everything that her mistress (teaching Mord-Sith) or the master tells her, without doubt and hesitation. This part of the training breaks her independent thinking and personal desires. During the first break-up, the girl also learns to endure the aggel pain, in order to later own it.
During the second withdrawal, the girl is forced to watch her teacher slowly and brutally torture her mother to death. That should break her compassion.
At the third breaking, she is given the instrument of torture and is forced to inflict pain and suffering herself. The girl must break her own father, turn him into an obedient puppet, and then torture him to death. After that, she becomes Mord-Sith and acquires a number of unique abilities.
Mord Sith has the unique ability to capture the magic of others (while applying magic against it) and use it against them. When a girl / girl goes through the third stage of training, Master Ral instills in her this magical ability. Mord-Sith can inflict intense pain on a creature / person she has captured with one thought. A prisoner who violates the Mord-Sith order, even in her absence, may experience severe pain, and there is no protection from this. You can only get free by killing the Mord-Sith, who captured the captive.
The second unique ability of Mord-Sith - to grant the "Breath of Life" - with its help, Mord-Sith can resurrect a dead person within a short time after his death. This ability was used by Mord-Sith mainly when training his captives, in cases where the student died during torture. Mord-Sith, before his death, can transfer to the trainee the ability to bestow the “Breath of Life” (as was the case with Denna and Richard in “The First Rule of the Wizard ”).
The greatest danger to Mord-Sith is the Confessor . Since the power of the Mord-Sith is based on hatred, from the strength of the confessor, whose power is based on love, the Mord-Sith die in terrible agony, which can last for hours (described in the works “ Debts of the Ancestors ”, “ Separated Souls ”).
Men Mord-Sith does not actually exist. However, it is known that there were male teachers who taught the young Mord-Sith. For example, a certain Rastin taught Constance and Denna. In addition, Mord-Sit can teach Master Rahl to use Agegil (Darken Rahl knew how to use Agegil and participated in the third breaking of female candidates for Mord-Sith). Also, prisoners trained by Mord-Sith, who were able to kill the “teacher” and escape, could use ageil, but not capture the magic directed against them (only Richard Ral succeeded ).
Appearance
Mord-Sith weave hair into a braid. They usually wear brown skin, but when they train a captive or go into battle, they wear red because blood is not visible on red. Mord-Sith, serving Hannis Ark, wear a black leather uniform. If Mord-Sith chose someone to be her husband or finally “broke” the captive, then she puts on white skin, as a symbol showing that there will be no bloody touch of the age. On the leather uniform there is always a yellow crescent and a star - as a symbol of the Mord-Sith. The soldiers serving the Mord-Sith have the same insignia, but only in red.
Weapons
The weapon used by Mord-Sith is called agegil. It is a simple red rod, about a foot long, the thickness of a finger. Agil can cause unbearable pain and even kill with just one touch. It also hurts the Mord-Sith using it. Mord-Sith uses the same agegel that was used in her training. In addition to agegil, the Mord-Sith can wear spiked armored gloves. Agile hurts everyone who touches him, except for the Pillars of Creation (Truly Untalented). Nor will he act unless Mord-Sith intends to inflict pain on the Agil. In addition, the " Eighth Rule of the Wizard " mentioned that ageil does not apply to those under the control of a dreamer.
Agegil acts only if Master Ral is alive, during the period when a new master was not named, agegils do not act, since their magic is “fueled” by the magic of “bonds”. At the same time, for the “bonds” to work, the Mord-Sith, like the other d'Harians, must recognize the new master of Ral.
Famous Mord Sites
Mord-Sith Ral House
Rastin is the only known man (besides Darken and Richard Ralov) who owns an agegil. He taught Mord-Sith Constance and Denna. It is not known whether he was directly among the Mord-Sith or was simply among those who trained them. Even before the events of the “First rule of the wizard”, he was killed by Dena after Constance told her how to do it. Mentioned only in the book " The first rule of the wizard ."
Denna ( Eng. Denna ) - red-haired Mord-Sith, who was entrusted to "educate" Richard. She changed a lot and understood a lot in the process of communicating with Richard, but he was forced to kill her in order to free herself. Richard loved Denna, and therefore, having killed her, he mastered the white magic of the Sword of Truth, the magic of love and forgiveness. After death, she joined the good spirits and took upon herself the seal of the spirit of Darken Rahl, voluntarily going to the Lord. Denna’s sacrifice saved Richard and herself, as the Lord couldn’t take possession of her bright spirit. He later appears in the Temple of the Winds and encourages Richard to return to the living world before it is too late (“The Fourth Rule of the Wizard ”). In The Last Rule of the Wizard , he acts as the guide of Richard in the underworld. In the book “The Heart of War ” she came to the rescue of the deceased Richard and merged with Kara, helping the spirit of Richard to return to the living world with the breath of life. It is repeatedly mentioned by Richard throughout all cycles of books.
Constance ( Eng. Constance ) - a short and stocky Mord-Sith, betraying his girlfriend Denna (" The first rule of the wizard "). She taught Richard for some time before meeting with Master Darken Rahl. In the book “ The Prediction Machine ”, it becomes known that it was the only Mord-Sith sent by Darken to Ral, who was able to return from the Dark Lands - the darkest and most remote territory of D'Hara, where Hannis Ark rules.
Cara is the unofficial leader of the Mord City group guarding Master Darken Rahl, and later his son Richard Rahl and Mother Confessor Kahlan Amnell . Appeared at the end of The Second Wizard's Rule . A beautiful sensible woman with blue eyes and long blond hair, who is respected in her group. Faithful friend of Richard and Kahlan. She often risks her life and almost dies in multiple attempts to save Richard. When Nikki led Richard into the Ancient World (The Sixth Rule of the Wizard ), she and Kahlan returned to the d'Harian army and fought against the Imperial Order. After winning the war in The Last Rule of the Wizard , he marries General Benjamin Meifert. In the finale of The Third Kingdom , after the death of her spouse, she asks for permission to leave Richard, and save her agegil to know that Master Ral is alive. Richard lets go of Kara. After death, Richard returns to his body and, united with the spirit of Denna, gives him the breath of life, giving his life and returning it (“ Heart of War ”). Thanks to Kara's sacrifice, Richard returns to the living world and defeats Emperor Sulakan and Hannis Ark.
Berdine ( Eng. Berdine ) - the dark-haired, blue-eyed Mord-Sith, who guarded Richard , since his return from the Ancient World, after training at the Palace of the Prophets (" Defenders of the Post "). Muscular with large breasts, which often focuses attention. In love with Raina. The only Mord-Sith possessing the ancient'harian. Her father taught her the language, and even Master Darken Rahl himself consulted with Berdina about the meaning of certain words. During the service, Richard helped him in deciphering the “diary of Kolo,” the Old'harian records left by a magician who lived many thousands of years ago, and later in translations of other important historical manuscripts. The most “playful” of all the Mord-Sith. She never tires of reminding everyone and everyone that she is the favorite of Master Rahl - Richard. In the book “ Defenders of Pastility,” the witch Lunneta was able to enchant Berdin, but in the end the magic of the “bonds” prevailed and Berdin became the same. Together with Nathan, he is engaged in cataloging books of the National Palace (“ The Prediction Machine ”). Present until the end of the story, having survived the attack of half-humans on the People’s Palace in the book “ Heart of War ”.
Raina ( English Raina ) - the dark-haired and dark-eyed Mord-Sith who guarded Richard along with Kara, Holly and Berdina, from the moment of his return from the Ancient world, after training at the Palace of the Prophets (" Defenders of the Pasture "). In love with Berdina. For the first time appears in the " Defenders of Pastilio " and dies from the magical plague, launched by the sisters of Darkness Dzhegan, in the book " Temple of the Winds ".
Hally is the fair-haired Mord-Sith who came to Aydindril with Kara, Berdina, and Raina to guard Richard Rahl. Dies during the attack of Mrvisvises in the " Defenders of the Posta."
Rikka is a tall, fair-haired, and blue-eyed Mord-Sith. Proud and stubborn, ready to do anything for the victory and defense of Lord Rahl (Richard). First appears in The Sixth Rule of the Wizard , taking part in the defensive company of the D'Harian Empire. In The Eighth Rule of the Wizard , he sneaks into the camp of the Imperial Order to kill the sister of Darkness by dressing in a bright pink dress of a harlot entertaining the Imperials (nothing can make Mord-Sith put on a dress, except for the direct order of Lord Rahl). As a result, having cut off the head of the sister of Darkness, she returned to her camp with a “trophy”, where, proudly, without changing her clothes, she showed the head to the abbess of the sisters of the Light of Verne, simultaneously shocking with her appearance the d'Harian soldiers. Upon learning that the wizard Zorander is captured by Gegan ("The Eighth Rule of the Wizard "), he leaves the troops and helps in his release, after which he remains with him in the Wizard's Castle, for further protection. Present until the end of the story, having survived the attack of half-humans on the People’s Palace in the book “ Heart of War ”.
Hannah ( Eng. Hania ) - Mord-Sith, who was captured by the Imperial Order in Anderii. She courageously endured all the bullying and torture of the Imperials, not uttering a sound, which caused admiration and respect for Nikki, who was at that time in the camp. She told Nikki about the character, life principles of Richard and his capture of Denna, taking the word from Nikki that she did not use this information against him. Instead, Hannah asked Nikki for a quick death, which she did by cutting Hannah's throat. Subsequently, Nikki will tell Richard about this. Only appears in one episode of The Sixth Rule of the Wizard .
Galina ( Eng. Galina ) - Mord-Sith, who participated in the defense company of the D'Harian Empire under the leadership of Kahlan Amnell. Mord-Sith Rikka found her head strung on a spear with an attached Aegil.
Solvig - Mord-Sith, who participated in the defense company of the D'Harian Empire under the leadership of Kahlan Amnell. It was one of six Mord-Siths sent to capture the mages of Dzhegan. Nida ( eng. Nyda, in some translations of "Naida" ) is the fair-haired and blue-eyed Mord-Sith. Smart and careful. It performs the functions of guarding and monitoring the prison premises, as well as interrogates prisoners of the People’s Palace. First appears in The Seventh Rule of the Wizard . Present until the end of the story, having survived the attack of half-humans on the People’s Palace in the book “ Heart of War ”.
Mord-Sith House of Arches
When Darken Rahl sent Mord-Sith with instructions to the Dark Lands, some of them accepted Lord Ark's offer to join him. Mord-Sith, dissatisfied with the rule of the heirs of the House of Rals, went over to the side of the House of Arcs, the ruler of the province of Fajin, which is a remote area of D'Hara. Subsequently, some Mord-Sit Arch began to secretly serve the abbot Ludwig Dreyer, having contacted him. His Mord-Sith usually wear a black uniform, although they also have a red uniform and in some scenes they wear it. After meeting with Richard Rahl, some Mord-Sites returned to serving the Rahl House.

Arranges sabotage, secretly killing guests invited to the wedding, trying to arouse mistrust of Richard Ral's Mord-Sith. After a direct acquaintance with Richard in the " Third Kingdom ", he decides to go over to his side, but has not yet told him about it. In the book “The Heart of War ”, during the storming of the People’s Palace by an army of semi-humans led by Hannis Ark and Emperor Sulakan, he fights with Richard, diverting the attention of Hannis, because if Ark had personally come to grips with him, Richard would have died. While Ark watched Richard’s suffering caused by the pain of the AG touch, Vika crept to the distracted Ark and pressed the AG to the back of her head, killing him.
Cara Mason ( born Cara ) (actress: Tabrett Betell ) is one of the Mord Siths who previously served Darken Rahl. Having fallen into the future with Richard and seeing that Darken Rahl's heir will kill all the Mord-Siths, she helps Richard return to the present, where the Seeker defeats Rahl. After this, Kara becomes the unspoken leader in the Mord-Sith group, but the spirit of Darken Rahl, who appeared to Mord-Sith Triana, instructs her to expel Kara. After betraying the other Mord Sith, she decides to help Richard find the Stone of Tears. Like all Mord-Siths, her magical weapon, agegil, takes strength from those in whom the blood of the Ral dynasty flows, which is Richard.
Dahlia ( Dahlia ) (actress: Laura Brent ) - Mord-Sith, Kara's close friend. She studied with Kara. First appears in episode 20 of season 2, when she finds Kara to inform her that her son is in danger. As a result, it turns out that Kara's son was killed at birth, and this is a trap. Thanks to Dahlia, Mord-Sith brings Kara back to Darken Rahl, who re-educates her. Kara resisted for a long time, but with the help of a special agegold, bewitched by the sisters of Darkness, Darken again makes him devotee serve. Kara and Dahlia have a closer relationship than simple friendships. The wizard Zeddicus tried to remove the spell from Kara, but changed the course of time, creating a reality in which Kara was not Mord-Sith, but Richard has the magic of Auden. Finding Kara, Zedd wanted to cancel the spell, but Dahlia managed to kill Kara, shooting her with a bow. Then the Wizard decides to cast a spell over Dahlia, as a result of which she never became the Mord-Sith, and therefore did not return Kara to Darken Rahl.
Triana ( Eng. Triana ) (actress: Carisma Carpenter [1] ) - one of the Mord-Sith, who served Darken Rahl. After Darken died and became the servant of the Ruler, Triana followed her master, also swearing allegiance to the Ruler of the Underworld. Garen ( Eng. Garen ) (actress: Katrina Law ) - Mord-Sith, who served Darken Rahl after his death. She was deceived by a double of Darken Rahl (Walter), who arrived at the Mord-Sith Tower to collect the treasures belonging to Rahl. She went along with several more Mord-Sites to accompany the deceiver-Walter, being sure that it was indeed Lord Rahl. During the journey, General Egrimont with a detachment of soldiers catches up with the travelers. It turns out that Garen informed him of the appearance of the master. However, the General instantly realizes that in front of him is not Darken, but a deceiver. Walter convinces her that Egrimont is a traitor, and the Mord-Sith, led by Garen, attack the soldiers. Suddenly, the spirit of the real Darken Rahl appears, who learned about the appearance of his double from the Mord-Sith who died in battle. He orders Garen to keep the captive in the cell until he appears. But the captive manages to escape. The sister of Darkness, confessed by Kahlan, transfers the spirit of Darken into Walter's body, and Darken, along with the confessed sister of Darkness, goes to the Tower of Mord Sith to pick up the ancient scroll where he is met by Garen and General Egrimont. Darken gives the general a secret sign that he is in danger. The General, Garen and the other Mord-Sites go to the aid of Darken Rahl and rescue him from the hands of the Seeker. After this, Darken orders Garen and several other Mord-Sites to go to the aid of Richard, so that he fulfills the prophecy and closes the curtain, thereby sealing the Lord in the Underworld. Garen and Mord-Sith join Kara and Zedd and set off in search of Kahlan and Nikki. Having overtaken the sister of Darkness and her confessed Kahlan, Mord-Sith kill Nikki, but Kahlan calls Kon-Dar and forces them to kill each other.
Alina ( Eng. Alina ) (actress: Thandy Wright ) - Mord-Sith, faithfully serving Darken Rahl. For the first time appears in the series, as Mord-Sith, sent for caught by the Seeker and Confessor (in the episode " Mirror "). Tricked by the Wizard Zeddicus, she does not lead to Darken to Richard and Kahlan, but the Innkeeper in the guise of Zedd and her thief friend.
Her next appearance took place in the last episode of the first season . Alina and the other Mord-Siths, led by Kara, set off on Blood Cliff to prevent the Seeker from folding Auden's caskets and defeating Darken Rahl. But the Mord Sith arrive too late. Cara tried to stop Richard by putting an agegil to him. As a result of the addition of three magic - Agegly, Auden's Caskets and Confession - the Seeker, who has put the caskets down, and Kara, trying to stop her, move 50 years forward, resulting in a temporary shift. In the new reality, Alina kills Zedd by repelling his Wizard Fire. In addition, it is known that Alina and Triana were the last Mord-Sith survivors in the “new” future, where Kahlan gave birth to a Confessor boy from Darken Rahl. However, a new Master Confessor reached them. When the Seeker and Kara return from the future, Alina wanted to kill the Seeker with the help of her Agegle, but Kara has time to stop her. The seeker manages to put the caskets together and defeat Rala, thanks to the help of the betrayer Darken Kara. Alina witnesses the treason of Kara, which clearly shocked her.
Nathair ( Eng. Nathair ) (actress: Caroline Braisia ) - Mord-Sith, who taught Kara as a child. During training, she tortured Kara's father to lie to his daughter that he had sold her to Mord-Sith. Deception made Kara believe this lie.
She pretended to be a teacher in order to find and steal the girls with the aim of raising Mord-Sith from them for Master Rala. During the trial of Kara, it was exposed. After the confession of the Mother Confessor, she confessed that she had tortured Kara's father so that he would lie that he had sold Kara to the Mord-Sith. After the father refused to say this to his daughter, she burned his larynx so that he only mumbled, and she told Kara that her father was ashamed to tell her and he mumbled, unable to admit it. After this confession, Kahlan refused to profess Kara.
