Femunsmark ( Norwegian Femundsmarka nasjonalpark ) is a Norwegian national park , on the territory of the Hedmark and Sor-Trøndelag county , on the border with Sweden . The area is 573 km² . Rare forest, grow mainly pines and birches .

Title
The first element is the genitive case of the name of Lake Femunn , and the second half of the “mark” in the title literally means “forest”.
Geography
The total area of lakes and rivers is about 10% of the total area of Femundsmark. Both in the North and in the South there are relatively high mountains, in the middle the park is not so high.
Tourism
Throughout the national park there are many different hiking trails and two sleeping cabins. In addition, there are several houses outside the park. Many rivers and lakes also make the park popular for canoeing , kayaking and fishing .
Interesting Facts
The national park influenced the album title of the German black metal band Waldgeflüster.
