Xanthopsia (xanthopsia, from the Greek. Xanthos "yellow" + opsis "vision") is one of the types of impaired color vision (a person sees all objects in yellow ). Most often, xanthopsia occurs with jaundice [1] . Appears in case of poisoning with certain chemicals (for example, picric acid , amyl nitrite , santonin and others). It also sometimes develops as one of the symptoms of certain diseases ( worming , typhoid fever , neurasthenia , diabetes , progressive cerebral arteriosclerosis ). The pathogenesis of this phenomenon has not been sufficiently studied at the moment, but the main causes of xanthopsia are considered to be either functional disturbances in the operation of the visual analyzer or the penetration of dyes into the refractive medium of the eye. It is treated by eliminating the underlying disease.
