Education
In 1967 he graduated from the Radio Engineering Faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute. CM. Kirov in the specialty "Automation and Remote Control", an electrical engineer .

Biography
Born on June 5, 1943 in the village of Teplovaya of the Kirovgrad City Council of the Sverdlovsk Region in an employee’s family. He studied at the school of the village of Lyovikha , after which two years he worked as a student of a turner and a turner at the Levikhinsky mine of the Kirovgrad copper smelting plant. In the years 1962-1967 studied at the institute.
After graduation, he worked for six months as an engineer at the Sredneuralskaya GRES , then moved to the city of Asbest , where he worked at the VNIIproektasbest institute: engineer, senior engineer, laboratory team leader. In 1974-1975 He studied at the postgraduate full-time at the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute , where he graduated with a dissertation defense, after which he continued to work at the All-Russia Research Institute of Design & Asbestos: Sector Manager, Head of Laboratory, Head of Processing Equipment Department.
In July 1983, he joined the party work and was elected 2nd secretary of the Asbestos City Party Committee, from January 1986 - 1st Secretary of the City Committee. At the same time in March 1990 he was elected a deputy and chairman of the Asbestos City Council. On April 7, 1990, by secret alternative voting, he was elected 1st secretary of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU. By the time Gusev was elected, the role of the regional committee in the system of management of the region had significantly decreased. On June 2, 1990, after a report at the plenum of the regional committee, he announced his voluntary resignation, recommending the second secretary of the regional committee, V.D. , as his successor. Kadochnikov . Subsequently, Gusev concentrated on his work as chairman of the Asbestos City Council, who headed until the dissolution in the fall of 1993.
Since 1993, he has been working in business structures: director of DMK LLP (1993-1999), general, then executive director of Zarechny CJSC (since April 1999).
