Uspensky, Victor Valentinovich

Born in the family of a senior engineer for transport management Voronezhles. He came from a family of hereditary foresters. Grandfather - a timber merchant in the Oryol province, in the 30s. XX century repressed, exiled to the Perm region. The family often moved from place to place until in 1951 it settled in Voronezh.

In 1957 he entered the Voronezh Forestry Engineering Institute, graduated in 1962. In 1962 - 65 years. worked in the Southeast forest inventory enterprise, took part in expeditions to the Krasnodar Territory, Smolensk Region, and the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Since 1965 he worked at the Voronezh Forestry Institute. First - a graduate student of the Department of Taxation and Forest Management, since 1968 - the head of the academic department, since 1969 - an assistant to the Department of Taxation and Forest Management , since 1975 - an assistant professor, since 1990 - the dean of the Forestry Department, since 1993 - a professor and head of the department. In 1985-1988 he was the secretary of the party committee of the Voronezh Forestry Engineering Institute ^[1] . The theme of the Ph.D. thesis is “Growth Progress, Commodity and Assortment Structure of Central African Pine Trees”. The doctoral theme is “Features of the growth and productivity of pine crops” ^[2] .

For more than 30 years, V.V. Uspensky has developed an urgent scientific field dedicated to the study of forest stands of artificial origin, taxation of phytomass of stands , assessment of the integrated productivity of forests and the organization of multi-purpose forest management. In his writings, a scientific problem of important practical importance was solved. According to the results of research, he published more than 100 works, with a total volume of more than 60 printed sheets. Since 1994, V. V. Uspensky was the scientific director of the work on the implementation of the subsection of the state program “ Russian Forest ”. For many years, V. V. Uspensky taught the courses “Forest management”, “Forest taxation” for students of the specialty “Forestry and forest parks”. He has published more than 30 educational and methodological developments in the amount of more than 50 printed pages. He organized specialties " Forest Hunting " and " Gardening of populated areas ." In recent years, he has been actively engaged in the study of the carbon-depositing function of forest stands and recreational forest management. ^[3]
