Hunter Parrish ( born Hunter Parrish ; born May 13, 1987 ) is an American actor and singer. Best known for her role as Silas Botvin in the television series Datura (2005-2012).

Early years
Hunter Parrish Tharp was born in Richmond, Virginia, but spent his childhood and youth in Plyno , a suburb of Dallas , Texas [1] . His mother, Annie Parrish, works as an educator for children with autism, and his father, Bruce Tharp, is an engineer [2] [3] . In 2007, he graduated from high school at Texas Tech University [4] .
Career
Hunter Parrish began his career at the age of fifteen with episodic roles in such television series as Defender , Eternal Summer and CSI: Crime Scene . On the big screen, he made his debut in 2004 in the comedy Night Party , and the next year he played a major role in the independent drama Steal Me. He also starred in the films "It Happened in the Valley" and " Madhouse on Wheels ."
In 2005, Parrish got the role of Silas Botwin in the Showtime comedy television series Datura . The show was broadcast over eight seasons and ended in 2012.
In August, Parrish made his Broadway debut in the musical Spring Awakening , based on a drama by Frank Wedekind . He played the role of the protagonist of the show from August to January 2009 and received good reviews for his performance [5] . After he appeared in the films “ Papa is Again 17 ”, “ Paper Man ” and “ Simple Difficulties ”.
In August 2011, it was announced that Parrish would play the lead role of Jesus in Stephen Schwartz 's Broadway musical Godsell. The show lasted from October 13, 2011 to April 15, 2012 [6] [7] . In June 2012, he released his debut album, entitled Guessing Games , which consisted of six songs [8] .
Personal life
Since 2015, Parrish has been married to Katherine Parrish (née Val) [9] .
