Khizr Khan

Khizr ( Khidir, Khidir , Tat. Khizyr , d. 1361 ) - Khan of the Golden Horde (May-June 1360 - August 1361 ), son of Sasa Bugi . Khan Khizr became the first Khan of the Golden Horde , representing the clan of the Horde-Yezhen , the eldest son of Khan Juchi .

He was a native of the White Horde . Khizr, according to Anonymous Iskander , was the son of the Ak-Horde khan Sasa Bugi. In 1359 he declared himself khan in Gulistan. In 1360, he invaded the possessions of the Khan of Nauruz and began secret negotiations with the Horde nobility, as a result of which Nauruz was extradited to Khizr. Khizr killed the khan of Nauruz , his wife Taydul and faithful Nauruz Horde nobles. According to Anonymous Iskander, Khizr ruled for one year.

Actively interfering in the affairs of Russia, Khizr sent ambassadors to Russia , and also called to Moscow Prince Dmitry Ivanovich . In addition to Dmitry, Andrei Konstantinovich Suzdalsky and his brother, Konstantin Vasilyevich (Prince of Rostov) and Mikhail Yaroslavsky also visited Khizr’s court. Managed a huge territory (this is evidenced by the coins issued by him in Gulistan, New Sarai , Khorezm and Azak ). In the management of the khanate sought to maintain a firm order.

Despite a number of measures taken, he could not restrain the troubles and was killed with his youngest son as a result of a conspiracy organized by his eldest son, Timur-Khoja .
