History
The Verkhnechirsky farm, the administrative center of the Verkhnechirsky rural settlement, is located on the banks of the Chir River. Previously, he bore the name Brekhov, in honor of the landowner Brekhov, and was part of the village of Migulinskaya . The village of Migulinskaya belongs to the oldest Cossack settlements on the Don. There is no exact information about the time of its foundation, but it is mentioned in the travel journal of Peter I during his campaign on Azov in 1696. Due to the uncomfortable situation, since 1747, residents of the village begin to petition the Board of the Don Army for permission to move to another place. On October 8, 1750, the resettlement of the village on the right side of the Don begins to the tract, which was called "Solonets". There is a village and is currently located. In the middle of the 18th century, there were 35 farms in the yurt of the Migulinskaya stanitsa, of which many had a significant population, and five farms had their own parish churches. Among them was the Brekhov farm near the Chir River, which numbered 97 yards.
In the 19th century, landowner Batyrov Nikolai Ivanovich settled in Brekhov. Between the existing farms Ilyichevka and Verkhnechirsky, on the right bank of the Chir River, a manor was built. At his own expense, a church was erected on the left bank of the Chir River and a convent. In 1878, a parish church school for boys was built in Brekhov.
According to the local census in 1916, there were 270 households in the farm and about a thousand inhabitants. Around the time of the Revolution of 1917, the Brekhov farm was renamed the Verkhnechirsky farm.
In the 1930s, the Bazkovsky orphanage was established in the former estate of the landowner Batyrov and in the monastery.
From June to December 1942, the Verkhnechirsky farm was occupied by German troops.
In 1960, the Bazkovsky orphanage was abolished.
According to the population census for 1978, there were 319 households and 908 inhabitants in the farm [2] .
