Group History

Group Formation and Dying Is Your Latest Fashion (2005–2006)

Before the formation of Escape the Fate, vocalist Ronnie Radke, bassist Max Green, drummer Robert Ortiz, lead guitarist Brian Monte and rhythm guitarist Omar Espinosa were in different groups with each other. Brian Monte later created the group “Escape the Fate” and invited Omar Espinosa to it, who in turn invited Max Green to the group. Max Green later invited Ronnie Radke and Robert Ortiz.

Escape the Fate was a success at a local radio station and quickly gained a lot of fans. In October 2005, they won a local radio competition organized by My Chemical Romance . The prize is the opening act for MCR , Alkaline Trio and Reggie And The Full Effect during the tour.

The band signed to Epitaph Records and released their debut EP, titled “There's No Sympathy for the Dead,” consisting of five songs, in early 2006. Later, two songs from this album were included in the full-length album, “Dying Is Your Latest Fashion”. The EP was produced by Michael Baskett, who helped the band earn the attention of influential record companies as well as fans. Following the release of “There's No Sympathy for the Dead,” keyboardist Carson Allen leaves the band to join On the Last Day.

In the summer, the group went on a tour, including several performances on the Warped Tour , and subsequently they continued the tour with Bullet for My Valentine and Eighteen Visions .

On September 26, 2006, the first full-fledged studio album “Dying Is Your Latest Fashion” was released, which occupied the middle bar in Billboard's Heatseeker and Top Independent charts.

The departure of Espinosa and Radke from the group (2007)

At the end of 2007, rhythm guitarist Omar Espinosa left the band for personal reasons. He stated on his MySpace blog that he left the band at a good moment and that he remains in good relations with members of Escape the Fate. He said he would continue to support them no matter what. “Escape the Fate” will remain a great band for him. Ronnie Radke was later fired from the group after he was sentenced to imprisonment in June 2008 due to legal problems related to drugs and complicity in the killing. While in prison, Ronnie created his own band, “ Falling In Reverse, ” and continued to pursue creativity. His group has already released the first demo , which was recorded before the arrest of Ronnie. Radke was released from prison in December 2010 and is now in the new Falling In Reverse band.

The Appearance of Mabbitt and This War Is Ours (2008–2010)

Following the departure of Radke, Blessthefall's former vocalist, Craig Mabbitt was asked to temporarily join Escape the Fate as a temporary replacement and then as a permanent member of the group. On May 6, 2008, Escape the Fate announced that Craig Mabbitt officially joined the group. Mabbitt immediately wrote This War Is Ours, the band’s second studio album, which was released on October 21, 2008. The album includes singles “The Flood”, “Something”, “10 Miles Wide”, and “This War Is Ours (The Guillotine II)”. This is the first album "Escape the Fate", where Craig Mabbitt performed as the vocalist of the group.

The departure of Michael and Monty Mani (2013)

In September 2013, Michael and Monty Mani refused to go on a Wrong Side of Heaven tour with the group and went to the studio to record songs for their new Money Brothers solo project, explaining that the label made them "puppet slaves." According to unofficial data, the reason is the label's refusal to provide the group with a comfortable tourbass. Later on the group’s twitter it was announced that during the tour Max Green would be returned to the role of bass player, and Kevin Thrasher would become solo guitarist, but the TJ had to move to a rhythm guitar. After several performances, the group arranged a video chat with their fans, where they put an end to this story, officially announcing the return of Max Green to the bass guitar.

Announcement of a joint tour with Falling In Reverse (2013)

It is known that Ronnie Radka really did not like the fact that in 2008 his place in the group was taken by Craig Mabbit, with whom they were good friends. All this resulted in a large number of mutual insults on the stage and beyond. All the more unexpected was their joint interview with Alternative Press, in which they apologized to each other and announced a 2014 Bury the Hatchet Tour in America.

Max Green's departure from the group (2014)

After a joint tour with Falling In Reverse , Max Green officially announced his departure from the group. Max reports that his decision to leave Escape the Fate is well-considered and balanced. He says that ETFs are great guys who make great music, but his vision of the music and the band is different and he cannot put up with it. Therefore, with a heavy heart, she leaves, promising to please her with her creativity and expressing her great love for the fans.
