Biography
Born May 12, 1938 in the Chernihiv region . Father is a military man. Mother is a housewife. The elder brother is Anatoly, a military man. The younger sister - Nina, lives in Bulgaria. The first vivid impression of the painting, according to the artist himself, was received in childhood, when his brother, not wanting to sit with little Vitaly, painted him a guardian angel. At school he studied drawing. A couple of years after the army service, Vitaly decided to continue his studies.
At the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, Moscow State Unitary Enterprise, he studied the art of graphics with the national artist of the USSR, Professor A. D. Goncharov ( 1903 - 1979 ). He graduated in 1965. The first place of work of the illustrator was the newspaper Pravda. He was a member of the Union of Journalists. Along with woodcuts and linocuts, he later began to paint in oil, and also created a series of watercolors glorifying the Russian and Ukrainian nature, for which he was called the "singer of silence." Love for nature was also expressed in the fact that Vitaly was a passionate fisherman.
He studied and collected Russian icon painting. By the age of forty, he was baptized at the Rogozhsky cemetery and became an Old Believer. In the 1970s, he created a series of illustrations for epics published in the publication of Goznak. In the 1990s, Vitaly Grigoryevich continued to work on Russian epics and fairy tales.
Passion for the theme of space led to the appearance of paintings in which the universe is depicted. In 1991, the Soviet Children's Fund. V.I. Lenin issued two stamps: "Universe" and "Another Planet". In the late 1980s and early 1990s V. Lukyanets seriously dealt with the unknown, later, thanks to the recommendation of V. G. Azhazhy, he became a corresponding member of the Moscow Aviation Institute in the department of “ Ufology and Bioenergyinformatics ”. The theme of the unusual attracted him passionately. Traveling around the country, he listened to eyewitnesses and, based on their stories, drew specific ufological studies. Did a lot of work. For his contribution to the development of Ufology, Vitaliy Lukyanets was elected a corresponding member of the Moscow Aviation Institute as an exception, without any academic degree and title.
V. Lukyanets wrote poetry, tried himself in prose. In the 1990s, he published and issued at his own expense three issues of Svetloyar magazine, in which he acted as an author-editor. The fourth issue, prepared by V. G. Lukyants, came out posthumously.
July 25, 1994 , having gone to sunbathe in Serebryany Bor, did not return. He died under mysterious circumstances. He was buried at the Rogozhsky cemetery in Moscow. One of his longtime friends spoke about Vitaly:

Art
Since the early 1970s, V. Lukyanets has illustrated the works of science fiction writer Alexander Kazantsev , who greatly appreciated his work. In 1978, he took second place in the international competition of science fiction painting. In 1980, he took second place in the competition "Time - Space - Man". His work was shown at the international exhibition "NTTM-80", where he was awarded the badge of honor. His interests included Ancient civilizations, UFOs, children of the future who grew up under different suns, distant dramatic epochs of earthly history, which, according to the artist, have an undeniable connection with the “cosmic factor”. The artist was very attracted by the cosmogonic theme.
On May 12, 1985, V. G. Lukyanets wrote to M. S. Gorbachev about his concern about the decline in the spiritual level of culture in the USSR.
