Biography

It came from the Russian branch of the Czech-Silesian clan Nostice . The son of Adjutant General Grigory Ivanovich Nostits , was born on January 3, 1824.

January 15, 1861 married the daughter of the famous Pushkin rival and tempter A.N. Raevsky - Alexandra (born 1839, died in Baden-Baden in July 1863). In marriage had a son Gregory . In the rank of Major General , he during the First World War , held the post of chief of staff of the Guards Corps .

He was educated in the Page Corps , from which he was released on August 5, 1841 by a cornet in the Life Guards Horse Regiment ; in 1846 he was promoted to staff captain and on April 11, 1848 to captain . On August 19, 1852 he was fired on indefinite leave, however, with the outbreak of the Eastern War he was commissioned and was part of the troops assigned to defend the coast of the Gulf of Finland from the possible landing of the Anglo-French troops, in 1855 he received the rank of colonel for distinction.

On October 9, 1857, Nostits was appointed to the Caucasus , where, commanding the Nizhny Novgorod Dragoon Regiment , he took part in campaigns against the highlanders several times. In 1859 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree with swords and September 20 of the same year - the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 10163 according to the cavalier list of Grigorovich - Stepanov)

 Commanding a separate detachment on the right bank of the river. Khulkhulaya, he raided on April 10 (with thirteen companies of infantry, two divisions of dragoons, three hundred Cossacks, three horse guns and six hundred Chechen police) on the farm Nazir and Dolze, and in this case he defeated a very significant collection of Naib Osman, which consisted of several hundred Tavlins, and repulsed from the battlefield one field gun (1/4 pood unicorn) and three badges. 

On April 17, 1860 he was awarded the title of Adjutant Outhouse .

On January 20, 1863, Nostitz was promoted to major general and six days later enlisted in His Majesty's Suite , was also appointed to be part of the Caucasian Army, and in the same year he was awarded the Order of St. 3rd degree Vladimir with swords. Continuing his service in the Caucasus, he was awarded the Order of St. for military distinctions. Stanislav 1st degree (in 1865) and St. Anna of the 1st degree with swords (in 1867, the imperial crown was granted to this order in 1870).

Produced on August 30, 1873 as lieutenant general , Nostits from September 1, 1882 was enlisted in the army cavalry and February 4, 1883 - in the reserve troops, in January 1889 he finally resigned. He died on March 4, 1905.
