Serpukhov Val [1] (also spelled Serpukhov Val [2] ) is a street in the south of the center of Moscow in the Danilovsky district of the Southern Administrative District , earlier (in the XVIII - XIX centuries ) part of the Kamer-Kollezhsky Val . Passes from Serpukhovskaya Zastava square in the east to the intersection with Shabolovka and 1st Roshchinsky passage in the west; heading west continues like Ordzhonikidze Street . House numbering is from Serpukhovskaya Zastava Square. Havskaya street adjoins from the north side, and the 4th and 5th Roshchinsky passages from the south. In the middle of the street there is a pedestrian boulevard.

Content
History and origin of the name
The street is named after Serpukhovskaya Zastava and Kamer-Kollezhsky Val, of which it was a part. It was formed in the second half of the XIX century. The modern name since 1922 , previously called the Serpukhov Chamber-College shaft. Since 1988, the incorrect spelling of Serpukhov Val has been adopted. [3]

On the even side
- No. 2 - Danilovsky market ;
- No. 8 - Embassy of Bolivia ;
- No. 16/25 - the temple of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God on Havskaya Street (1911-1912, architect N. G. Martyanov )
- No. 20 - a four-story building of an automatic telephone exchange (1932). It was demolished at the end of March 2015 along with later extensions (pages 2, 3, and 5) to clear a building site - AFK Sistema plans to build an eight-story office-residential building with a parking lot for 76 cars on this site.
- No. 22, building 2 and 3; No. 24, building 1 and 2; No. 28, architectural monument (regional) - a housing estate of 1927-1930 , architects N. N. Travin, B. N. Blokhin and others.
Transport
- Near the Serpukhovskaya Zastava Square there is the northern entrance hall of the Tulskaya metro station.
- A tram line was laid down the street in 1931, currently used by routes A , 16 , 38 and 38k , 39 , 47 . Also on the street follow routes 1 , 3 , heading to the depot (west along Serpukhov Val, then along Shabolovka) or to the route (east). [four]
- The street is the final destination for bus route No. 9 of the 13th bus fleet , as well as for tram route No. 16 of the Tramway depot named after P.L. Apakova . [five]
Incidents
On February 29, 2004, as a result of a breakthrough of the cold water pipeline, Serpukhov Val, as well as Serpukhovskaya Zastava Square and the beginning of Bolshaya Tula Street were flooded. In some places, the water rose several tens of centimeters, the underground passage under Bolshaya Tula Street was completely flooded, the water approached close to the entrance to the northern entrance hall of the Tulskaya metro station.
