Also on some maps Aksakul, Akcha-Kul. The lake is located in the northeastern part of the Kunashak region . Located 2 km from the border with the Kurgan region and 3 km from the border with the Sverdlovsk region . On the northeast coast is the village Akchakul .
The lake is surrounded by reed beds, sometimes swampy. The bog to the south of the lake, up to the village of Iksanova, is called the Great Akchakul .
The name comes from the Turkic male name Akchakul (Aksakul), with the basis Bashkir aҡsa , Tatar akcha - “money”, and a component of a male name, attached to the base ҡol (count) - “slave”, reinterpreted in the --үl “lake”, reflecting the wish newborn to be rich [1] .
