Kirovsky district (Makhachkala)

Kirovsky district is one of the three districts of Makhachkala . With subordinate settlements and adjacent territories right up to the island of Chechnya, it is the largest intracity district of the city (280 km²).

History

The district was formed on November 23, 1985 from the northern part of the Soviet district .

Geography

The border with the Soviet district passes along the line [2] → Ali-Gadzhi Akushinsky Avenue - ul. G. Hajiyev - st. M. Gadzhieva - st. Gusaeva - st. Danialova - st. Dakhadaev - st. Buinakskogo - st. Gottfrid Hasanov - railway - st. Levanevsky - City beach.

It also borders on the Kumtorkalinsky and Babayurtovsky districts of Dagestan . The border runs along the Sulak highway, then north along the coast of the Caspian Sea along the Agrahan Peninsula to the island of Chechnya , including the latter.

It includes the following microdistricts and parts of the city - Scientific Town, Uchkhoz, Novy Settlement, 1st Makhachkala, Eltav Plant Village, Neftekachka, Black Stones, Santa Barbara, Zagorodny .

The following suburban urban settlements of Leninkent , Semender , Shamkhal , Sulak , Krasnoarmeyskoye , Bogatyryovka , Shamkhal-Termen and the Chechen Island, which is extremely distant to the north, are subordinate to the district.

The district includes the second historical part of the city - 1st Makhachkala (the former village of Petrovsk-Kavkazsky ).

On the territory of the district is the largest military cemetery of Makhachkala - Old Russian , on which the soldiers of the Red Army who were wounded during the Great Patriotic War and died in the city’s hospitals are buried.

In the area of ​​Black stones is located the Makhachkala Aerological Station.
