Biography
Received a law degree.
In 1972, Mr .. was elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Christian Democratic Party .
Since 1980 - in the government, Minister for Relations with Parliament, then Minister of Posts and Telecommunications.
- 1987-1988 - Minister of Finance,
- 1988-1990 - Minister of the Interior of Italy .
In 1993, he was accused of involvement in the activities of the mafia . One of the repentant members of the Neapolitan mafia, Camorra, accused Gava of “covering up” the activities of the boss Lorenzo Nuvoletta. For this, he was expelled from the bar association and spent a year under house arrest .
However, in 2006 he was acquitted.
