Korzun, Vasily Ivanovich

Vasily Korzun was born on March 2, 1924 in the village of Bolshaya Erba (now the Bogradsky District of the Republic of Khakassia ) into a peasant family. Father was a laborer. He was brought up with his older brother as a mother. The brother subsequently became a worker at an aircraft factory in Irkutsk .

After graduating from high school in Abakan in 1941, 05/12/1942 he was called up by the Khakass OVK in the Red Army. In 1943 he graduated from the Kiev Red Banner Artillery School. S. M. Kirova (KKAU) in Krasnoyarsk ^[1] and was sent to the front with the rank of junior lieutenant . Participated in battles, was wounded twice on 01/17/44 and 02/02/44. He finished the war in Estonia . He was awarded the Order of the Red Star for military merit. Demobilized.

In 1946, Korzun entered the Irkutsk Theater Studio at the Irkutsk Youth Theater . In 1948, after its completion, he was admitted to the Irkutsk Youth Theater, where he played until 1954. About 20 years he served in the drama theaters of Voronezh (1954-1960, 1966-1970), Krasnoyarsk (1960-1963) and Kuibyshev (1963-1966, 1970-1973).

In 1973, Vasily Korzun was invited to the Leningrad Pushkin Drama Theater , where he served until 1978. I was forced to leave the theater because of an unstable relationship with the artistic director Igor Gorbachev .

Completely switched to work in the cinema, where he has already filmed a lot and successfully. He was a member of the Lenfilm film studio. Korzun played his best role - the driver Karpukhin in the film "Karpukhin" at the very beginning of his film career. He created an interesting dramatic image of a man entangled in a difficult situation. In the future, Vasily Korzun was often invited to the roles of various officials, military and foreigners, whom he played with great reliability and dramatic intensity. Best works: Andreev (“Izhora Battalion”), Kravtsov (“Blockade”), Sergey Pastukhov (“Scream of the Loon”), Valentina's father (“Valentina”), Tatishchev (“Demidovs”), Markov (“Chelyuskintsy”), Panteleev ("The Coming Age").

Engaged in directing. While working in Voronezh, he directed the student theater at the Pedagogical Institute, where he staged the performances "Petty Bourgeois", "Hamlet", "Irkutsk History", "Tanya" and others. He directed the amateur theater of the village of Russian Zhuravka of the Upper Mamon district of the Voronezh region (since 1967).

In addition, Vasily Korzun was engaged in literary activities, was the author of poetry songs. Some of them were published under the name “White Horses” after his death, the widow of the actor, Victoria Petrovna, in a happy marriage with whom he lived 39 years.

He died on August 25, 1989 in Leningrad . He was buried at Volkovsky cemetery .
