The game is based on the children's cartoon Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: The Animated Series , which, in turn, was based on the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movie series. Another game, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes , was released for Amstrad CPC , MSX, and ZX Spectrum in 1986.
Gameplay
The main character of the game is Chad Finletter, a boy whose task is to stop the evil scientist Dr. Putrid T. Gangrin so that he cannot launch his Doomsday Tomato. During the trip, he has to deal with many mutated tomatoes, as other residents of San Zuccini (the city where the action takes place) are too scared to help him.
As in many platformers of the time, the main method of destroying enemies is to jump on top of them and crush them (or break them into several smaller enemies). At the end of each level, he is waiting for the boss from among the minions of the evil scientist - Zultan, Beefsteak, Mummidor, Fang, Ketchuk and Tomacho.
