The International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC; ISIC - International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities ) is a reference classification of economic activities developed by the UN . Classification provides a mechanism within which it is possible to collect, process and store information necessary for economic analysis and decision-making on a macroeconomic scale. ISIC also provides a continuous flow of information that can be used for international comparisons. The main scope of the classifier is limited to economic statistics , however, recently it has been increasingly used for administrative purposes. As of 2012, the fourth revision of the classifier from 2009 is used (ISIC 4, ISIC v4).
