Porsche 944

The Porsche 944 is a sports car produced by Porsche at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm ( Germany ) and at the main Porsche plant in Stuttgart from 1982 to 1991. Had a 4-cylinder in-line engine (also in the turbocharged version) of 2479 cubic meters. cm (2.5 liters), and later 2.7 and 3.0 liters. Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission , optionally installed 3-speed automatic transmission.

The layout of the engine and transmission was the same as that of the earlier Porsche 924 : the engine was located in the front and the gearbox in the rear, which ensured close to 50:50 axle weighting.

At the end of 1985, the model was restyled, which changed the interior (the square panel gave way to the modern oval) and the technical part of the car; in 1987, one more significant improvements were carried out, most pronounced in the updated chassis of the car.

Version S2 (1989-1991 gg.) And late turbo (only 1991) were also produced in the back of a convertible.
