Factory History
Construction of the plant began in 1935 . Officially opened in 1937 . It went into operation after the Ishimbay refinery , opened in 1936.
In 1938, the plant produced the first 117 tons of direct race gasoline . By 1939, the construction of the first phase of the plant was completed. By the end of the 1940s , the second stage units (combined thermal cracking unit, the second sulfuric acid phenolic treatment, asphalt plant) and the third stage (gas fractionation, polymerization, hydrogenation) were put into operation. During the Great Patriotic War, the plant supplied the front with fuel.
After the war, the plant industrialized the new technological processes of catalytic cracking, hydrotreating fuels, and the production of aluminosilicate catalyst.
In 1959, for the first time in the USSR, refining of sour crude oils was mastered. In the 1970s, a radical reconstruction of the oil refining unit was carried out, new technological units were built (catalytic reforming unit L-35-5, GIPH-105 for the production of copper-chromium catalysts, inert gas, elemental sulfur), which increase the capacity and improve the quality of products.
In 1970 - 1975, plants for the production of industrial hydrogen, ELOU-AVT-6, and hydrotreatment of diesel fuel were commissioned. In 1980 - 1985, the plant was the first in Bashkiria to process condensates from the Orenburg and Karachaganak gas fields. Also at this time, the plant initiated the resettlement of the village of Novoaleksandrovka due to the fact that the newly-built Komsomol settlement (called “the 5th camp”) was located in a three-kilometer sanitary zone from the new oil refinery sites, and according to the norms of the USSR Ministry of Oil Industry, residents need was evicted to a safer place.
In 1995, instead of morally and physically worn-out plants, the G-43-107M / 1 catalytic cracking complex was introduced, which allowed to increase the depth of oil refining and the production of high-octane gasolines. In 2008, using the Isomalk-2 technology, an isomerization unit for pentane-hexane fractions was constructed according to the scheme with hexanes recycling [2] .
In the list of largest companies in 2009, the plant took 319th place.
Current situation
The authorized capital of Ufa Oil Refinery OJSC amounted to 619.277 million rubles (for the period of 2008). In the same period, the refinery processed 6.148 million tons of oil.
The feed to the refinery is mainly oil from Western Siberia (about 50%), Bashkiria (about 40%) and 10% of the feed is gas condensate .
